The whole world so suddenly got stirred by a pandemic.
And with everything taken into consideration, we are ushered to the dawn of a new era, with quite a quaint new normal.
Today marks two months from the first day it seeped into my consciousness that if the virus reaches us in the peripheries, it will cause an irreversible social and cultural revolution, affecting mores and norms, traditions, and even challenging long-held beliefs. Just four days after that, so was the news heralded everywhere: We have Patient No. 1, the city will be placed on lockdown. Everyone is to stay at home. Only skeleton forces are allowed to go out, and residents are restricted to one representative per household going out on schedule for essentials only. No church celebrations, no physical crowd gatherings of any form, no festivities, no lurking. It meant no business operations, too, for us.
Who would’ve thought something like this would still happen during our time? I am only comforted by the Word we received in our scrutatio, lifting everything that is happening now to God’s hands.
During this period of staying at home, I have also had the opportunity to pick up from the pile of my “I want to do” list, exploring dyeing techniques and getting back to punch needle embroidery among others. If it be anything, this whole situation lends me plenty of time to enrich my knowledge and skills, and try my hand on different things. I am also grateful to DOST-PTRI for their Tech-Know Tela Webinar Series, offering informative presentations about the industry of textile processing.

So I’m just writing here random thoughts on living in the age of the new normal, updates on business information technology and trends, culture and events, arts and crafts, product design and development, ecologically sustainable community developments, and maybe whatever else. Welcome back to Musings! Enjoy your layover here.
